Some Solitary Wave Solutions of Generalized Pochhammer-Chree Equation via Exp-function Method

In this paper, Exp-function method is used for some exact solitary solutions of the generalized Pochhammer-Chree equation. It has been shown that the Exp-function method, with the help of symbolic computation, provides a very effective and powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear partial differential equations. As a result, some exact solitary solutions are obtained. It is shown that th...

Spectral analysis of traveling waves for nonlocal evolution equations

Monotone traveling waves have been show to exist for a broad class of nonlocal bistable evolution equations. In this note we examine the spectrum of the operator obtained by linearizing about such a traveling wave and hence show that these waves are exponentially asymptotically stable, up to translation.

Analysis of third-order methods for secular equations

Third-order numerical methods are analyzed for secular equations. These equations arise in several matrix problems and numerical linear algebra applications. A closer look at an existing method shows that it can be considered as a classical method for an equivalent problem. This not only leads to other third-order methods, it also provides the means for a unifying convergence analysis of these ...

Longitudinal data analysis with structural equations

In this paper we review different structural equation models for the analysis of longitudinal data: (a) univariate models of observable variables, (b) multivariate models of observable variables, (c) models with latent variables, (d) models that are unconditioned or conditioned to other variables (depending on the variability of the independent variables: time-varying or time-invariant, and dep...
